BMWs to star at Maleny Classics Show 'n' Shine

CLASSIC cars will be beaming at Maleny tomorrow.

More than 60 BMWs will be showcased at the Maleny Classics car show, where the Bavarian brand is this year’s special feature.

“Each year, I like to spice it up a little with a special display. Last year we celebrated Ducati’s 50th birthday with a display of over 100 Ducati motorcycles,” event organiser Debs Swain said.

“This year, Classics is showcasing BMW cars and bikes and we’re calling for everyone who owns a BMW from past to present, to come along and take part in the display. We have 60 BMWs so far, all different models, years and colours but there are still a few gaps we’d like to fill.”

Ahead of the display, the BMWs will meet at Aussie World before travelling in a motorcade up the mountain, through Maleny and finishing at the Witta Recreational Club.

Once again the event will attract a range of cars, bikes and caravans produced before 1989.

Owners of interesting bikes and cars are encouraged to attend the Show ‘n’ Shine event, and it often attracts rare offerings which rarely leave the garage – along with a good contingency of Australian cars.

Sunshine Coast Pinup School will be at the Retro Markets, to show how to dress and style hair for the retro look, while there will also be stall holders for the car and bike swap meet.

Coastline BMW will be bringing some of the latest models to showcase the future of BMW.

Debs, a BMW owner herself, said she’s met some great BMW owners and collectors with some rare cars coming along on the day from as far as Hervey Bay to the Gold Coast.
