Classic cars, hot rods, vintage Corvettes and bobbysoxers will make for some “Happy Days” in Ocean City Friday through Sunday, Sept. 8-10.
Dozens of cars will roll into town Friday and Saturday for the Classic Car and Street Rod Show at the Ocean City Tabernacle, 550 Wesley Ave. Cars will be displayed on the grounds 1-6 p.m. Friday before proceeding to 13th Street and Asbury Avenue for the first-ever Sock Hop Block Party and Street Rod Display.
The 1300 block will be closed to traffic for the party, which will feature live entertainment and food specials from Johnny B. Goode Ice Cream Parlor and Boyar’s Food Market.

Cars will be displayed there until 8 p.m.
On Saturday, the cars will be displayed at the Tabernacle grounds 8 a.m.-noon and then proceed to the boardwalk to be displayed between Sixth Street and 14th Street noon-4 p.m. To register or for information on participating in the car show see ocnj.us/carshow.
On Sunday the focus to swing to classic Corvettes with the Boardwalk Corvettes Show 11 a.m.-4 p.m., when models from throughout the history of Corvettes will be displayed on the boardwalk between Sixth Street and 14th Street.
The Corvette Forum recently listed Ocean City’s among the top 5 Corvette shows in America, according to organizers.
