The Eagles Club will hold its eighth annual classic car show this week.

The show will run from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday at Eagles F.O.E. 104, 1530 Ave. F.

The event will include cars, food, drinks, music and prizes.

Vehicles will include muscle cars, street rods, rat rods and more.

“Last year, we had over 100 cars and over 500 spectators,” said Doug Fowler, who is among the event’s volunteers.

About 10 Eagles members have classic cars they usually bring out for the show, said Lee Duncan, another volunteer. He has a yellow 1969 Olds Cutlass with a black top.

“I don’t do a whole lot of these, but the ones I do I enjoy,” he said.

Burgers and brats will be available for $ 4 each, and drink specials will be offered, Fowler said. The Eagles Women’s Auxiliary will hold a bake sale during the show.

John Fowler will serve as deejay for the event, Doug Fowler said.

“He plays ’50s, ’60s and ’70s — and then he also includes a lot of the different classic car (songs),” he said.

There will be raffles for a Bud Lite grill and many other items, and door prizes will be given away, Fowler said. Fifteen trophies will be awarded, courtesy of event sponsors.

“The cars are great, but it’s really just about people helping people,” Fowler said.

Proceeds will go to the Children’s Diabetes Foundation and Eagles Women’s Auxiliary. The show helps fund the auxiliary’s Halloween, Christmas and Easter events for children and families, according to President Roxanne Chatterton.

Vehicles from 1995 or earlier can be entered in the show on the day of the event for $ 10 per vehicle. For more information or to register, call Lee Duncan, 402-203-6312; Chuck Barnard, 402-510-4570; or Jeff Eggers, 402-630-2348.
