The village of Endeavour is gearing up for its Canada 150 celebrations with an old time picnic on September 3.
Members of the community are getting excited with plenty of activities all afternoon and evening, said Crystal Romanchuk, one of the organizers.
All activities are scheduled to be held at the Endeavour School Complex, beginning at 2 p.m. Children’s games and activities scheduled include face painting, balloon art and a bean bag pail throw for all ages. Horseshoe games and a pick-up fun ball game are also scheduled for the afternoon.
A jam-and-jelly contest will have the best of the best going head-to-head to determine the best tasting fruit conserve.
A classic car show will also add to the highlights of the afternoon.
A turkey dart shoot fundraiser will have individuals purchasing a slice of the pie outlined on a paper plate. Winners will receive turkeys.
A potluck supper will be held at the conclusion followed by a variety of entertainment, including performances by the Woodland Chorus, Willie and Company, Ukrainian dancers and Philippine stick dancers.
Fireworks will conclude the day.
“The old time picnic is scheduled to be a lot of fun with many groups and individuals helping to make it possible,” said Romanchuk.
