CADILLAC — The Hoxeyville Classic Car Show returns to Coyote Crossing Resort in Cadillac Sunday for the show’s 10th anniversary.
Participants can register with a $ 15 entry fee at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds from the fee are donated to the Cadillac Lions Club for a donation to support diabetes research. A dollar of the fee goes into a cash prize drawing for car owners, while patrons can participate in 50/50 raffles.
A pancake breakfast will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. to support the Cadillac High School volleyball team.
The Lions Club’s involvement is new to the show, organizer Bill Bradfield said. A member and former president, Bradfield and the Lions Club have campaigned in recent years to raise funds through various events for diabetes research.
Through donations of old trophies from over 40 area businesses, dash plaques will be awarded to the first 100 cars, Bradfield said.
The Hoxeyville show is one of four in Northern Michigan, including a show in Irons in June, one in Evart Sept. 2 and a Big Rapids show Sept. 4. A “Triple Crown of Car Shows” honor is awarded to classic car owners who attend at least three.
About 20 cars were displayed in the first year, Bradfield said, a number that has steadily grown to include over 100 cars each of the past two years.
Coyote Crossing Resort is located at 8593 South 13 Road in Cadillac, a half-mile south of M-55 on Hoxeyville Road across from the Caberfae Peaks sign.
