More than a hundred classic antique cars are driving to Confederation Building in St. John’s today on the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Coasters Coast to Coast Tour.
The Canadian Coasters began when the Historical Automobile Club of Canada (HASC) in Ontario began tossing around the idea of having an antique car tour that traveled across Canada.
In 1967 nine cars travelled from Victoria, BC to St. John’s, Newfoundland.
This year, the 50th anniversary of the tour, will see around 125 antique cars making their way to Confederation Building.
Minister Dale Kirby will be on hand when the cars roll into town at 5:00 p.m. this afternoon.
