NEW LONDON (WLUK) — A special vehicle, once belonging to a Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback, will be on display at Lambeau Field this week.

Ahead of the Green Bay Packers vs. Los Angeles Rams preseason game on Thursday, fans can get a look at Bart Starr’s 1967 green Corvette convertible, given to him after winning the Super Bowl I MVP title.

The classic car showing is part of Rawhide Boys Ranch rawhideMVP campaign, honoring Starr’s first vehicle donation in 1968.

It was a red Corvette, given to Starr after he was named Super Bowl II MVP. Rather than keeping it, Starr offered to hold a raffle, giving fans a chance to win the car. Tickets were sold for $ 1 and all the proceeds went to Rawhide. In three days, $ 40,000 was raised for the organization.

The green Corvette will be on display at 12:00 p.m. under the Rawhide tent next to the Johnsonville Tailgate Village. The car’s current owner, Mike Anderson of Thunder Valley Classic Cars, says the vehicle is currently up for auction to the general public.

The organization is also giving away a Bart Starr autographed football as part of its rawhideMVP campaign. Fans can text rawhideMVP to 51555 to enter their names. Entries will be accepted through Dec. 31, 2017.
