Holly, MI – The Davisburg Bread Company started out in Davisburg, selling artisan breads and baked goods on the weekends before finally getting a full-time space in Holly. Using fine ingredients and creative recipes, the bakery has grown, even adding lunchtime hours.
They have a variety of sandwiches. When I went recently for lunch, I opted for the pulled pork, served on toasted classic white bread and served with a pickle spear on the side. The house-made pulled pork was messy with sweet BBQ sauce, perfect for sopping up off the plate with the crusts of the delicious bread.
The owner Doug came to chat. He was quite excited about adding fresh-baked pies to their menu. I’ve not tried them yet, but next time I’m in town I will be picking one up for sure.
In addition to the quality baked goods, Davisburg bread has something else that makes it unique – large windows with a great view of Downtown Holly and the nearby train tracks. Doug said it’s especially nice on Wednesdays when Holly has their classic car shows on Saginaw Street.
Davisburg Bread has become a gathering place, the kind of diner where people can sit and talk, as well as a place for people to stop in and take baked goods or a meal to go.
