If you’re looking to take dad somewhere this Father’s Day, the Dads Day in the Valley Car Show is on again.
It is the 6th year the event has been held. It has grown from its humble beginnings as a small car show to include the whole community.
Ian Trewartha from the Pioneer Valley Car Club said last year the event had more then 8000 people through the gates and it helps raise funds for local charities with the main beneficiary this year being Mackay Alzheimers.
“It started off purely as a car show and we have grown with the community,” he said
“We close off the main street in Mirani which is in itself is very unique.”
“This is our sixth year and we have been able to donate around sixty thousand dollars back to the local community.”
All though the car show is aimed at dads and held on Father’s Day the event has something for the whole family.
“As well as the modern and classic cars on display, Slick 7 Raceway Slot Cars, Old MacDonald’s Farm, Pioneer Valley Machinery Preservation Society, belly dancers from Kucom, Glamour Dolls dressed in their retro gear and vendor stalls will be set-up to make the day enjoyable for everyone.” Mr Trewartha said.
“We are trying to make it bigger and we are including the whole community and to make it a fun day for everyone, the kids will enjoy it, the parents will enjoy it and the grand parents will enjoy it,”
“It’s not just a car show, it’s a community day.”
